I’ve got Axim X50V and I have been using it for about 4 months.
The problem that I have is a software that I like to use. It is personal accounting software called “Cash Organizer 05 Deluxe” from Inesoft (
http://www.inesoft.com/eng/index.php). I am sure many of you already are using the software.
I installed the software into main memory of X50V. Most of features works fine except two reports. One is “Income & Expense Category” and the other is “Project Report”.
Every time I run those reports my axim doesn’t display report result in 3D pie charts. It just keeps busy with processing and never finishes the task. I can only see the round picture in the middle of screen that is equivalent to Hour Glass in MS windows. I left it for about 30 minutes the process is still going on.
So I initially thought it was caused by the software. So I performed the following to investigate the cause of the problem.
To test this, I created one transaction entry dated 20/6/05. Then I set reporting date period (1/6/05 to 30/6/05) that includes the transaction date.
-uninstall and reinstall the software and ran those report – result: same problem happened
-performed hard reset of my axim and installed the software. The system only got WM2003 SE and the software and ran those reports – result: same problem. (Getting more interesting).
-My axim had AO3Rom (the latest Rom release). I downgraded to A02 that I have as a backup and installed the software. – result: same problem. ( I couldn’t believe my eyes.
-I've also got HP Ipaq 3870. I installed the software on it and ran those reports. – result: The software workings 100% including those 2 reports. (very strange, it works on Ipaq 3870 not on X50V)
After all these testing, I finally conclude that there is something wrong in my axim, not in software but in hardware. I think it is to do with Graphic chip set.
I also reported this issue to Inesoft and haven’t got a reply yet. I am not sure whether they support nonregistered users or not.
Please give me you opinion or tell me what else is left to try before I report to DELL.
Many thanks.
