Who can solve this Windows Mobile 2003 challenge?

Can anyone solve this Windows Mobile 2003 mystery (described in full below). I've noticed many threads were Aximites complain about experiencing the glitch -- but no one has solved it. Amazing huh?

So, here goes. From time to time, when you press the button on the Axim with the "envelope" icon, the "messaging" program does not load correctly (this is assuming the "messaging" option is assigned to that button as is the default). When you press the button, the Messenging program does not load completely. Only the top subject line loads -- and the rest is just the Today screen showing through.

But here is where it gets interesting. If you go to Start>Programs>Messaging -- and click on the messenging icon, the program opens correctly.

What would cause this interesting glitch? Can anyone think of a solution?

Thanks!

Does this happen after a soft reset?

The mysterious glitch does go away initially after a soft reset, but it returns after the button has been pressed a time or two. . .

Below are links to other Aximites talking about the issue (notice, no solution was ever produced):
