Trouble adding notes to tasks---Help Please
Hi New to pocket PC's and aximsite. Been lurking for a while and really appreciate all the good info. Did a search for my issue but couldn't find anything.
In the standard windows "tasks" app, I used to be able to click on the "notes" tab when editing a task, but it no longer lets me. i can click on the tab but it won't allow me to enter any info.
i'm running a x50v and syncing to a laptop running outlook 2003. i don't see a field in the full outlook tasks to add notes, any idea on how to enter them? i used to be able to do this and now suddenly i can't??

When using tasks, I can tap edit, then press the notes tab, enter info and hit "ok ". Is this what you want?

yes, that's what i want to do (and was able to do) but now when i tap on the notes tab, it comes up but won't let me enter anything - even though i'm in "edit" mode.
i have the feeling it has some thing to do with the sync but ???
oh, and one thing i forgot, i had already entered a couple tasks that had notes, now the tasks are still showing up, but the notes have been cleared out

I use Outlook 2002, and when I sync my x50v the notes for a task are shown in a window below, that I can type directly into (don't have to hit edit etc.). Sorry I can't help directly as I don't have 2003 I guess.

Corrupt database
It sounds like your database on the PocketPC is corrupt.
What you may end up doing is making sure you have a good sync, and then hard reset your device. Re-install any third-party apps you have on your PocketPC. When you sync back up your desktop Outlook data will be written to a clean database on your PocketPC, thereby fixing the issue.
That's my best guess.

Lol
Probably scared it to death when the words "hard reset" were mentioned. You lucked out!

From reading a few threads and trying it myself, the "cannot write or do anything in notes" is due to the switcher. The only solution I know of (please correct me if I am wrong), is exit "switcher mode", do a soft reset and never use switcher again. Thanks.

Adding notes to tasks
I have had the same problem, both before and after upgrading to A04.
A soft reset seems to correct the problem. I haven't verified whether exiting the switcher bar corrects it or not, but when you soft reset, you exigt switcher bar as well.
I have also had problems with assigning a calendar event to a category, and soft resetting corrects this as well.

I have stopped leaving switcher bar open all the time, and this has corrected my inability to add notes or assign categories to tasks and calendar events.
I also haven't had any problems occur as a result of not using switcher bar to fully close open applications.
The only apps. I am running, however, are the WM2003 apps., plus Microsoft Reader.

I had the same thing and went from Switcher Bar to 'Magic Button' instead. All is good again.

Thanks guys, I had the same problem
Soft Reset and no Switcher Bar fixed the problem.
I would never have thought that.
