Registry: Where is it stored?

Does anyone know where Windows Mobile stores the registry files? Is it stored in built-in memory -- or in ROM along with the rest of the operating system. Just curious. Thanks!

Neither - it's stored in RAM and gets wiped with a hard reset. The default settings are in ROM are restored with the rest of the OS.

BTW, ROM and BIS are the same physical memory.

That's very interesting. . . Guess it means you have to reinstall your apps if the battery dies on the road...

It's better to die at home than on the road.

BTW, you just cannot see or play with the registry using the normal "windows explorer". It takes a separate program, like Advanced explorer, or resco explorer, to see and change the registry.
