The fact that it is 802.11b does not rule out WPA per se (all the X30 and X50 devices have 802.11b wireless and can use WPA), but the device operating system (or possibly the drivers for the adapter) need to support it and that is not the case with WM03 or the TrueMobile card.
Coincidentally, I just downloaded
Hitchhiker from Kasuei and noticed on their web site that it supports WPA. Unfortunately, that appears to only be the case if you are using it with WM03SE since I just tried setting up WPA on my home router and tried Hitchhiker on my WM03 PPC and it never gave me an option for a WPA key (still only WEP).
I'm afraid there's not much hope at this time.
