Name all software that works and/or doesn't work in BIS

I wanted to get a list of every software that will work in BIS. This way we can all save some memory even if we don't need it now...

Since I don't know any please someone do start... :approve:

What I can also do is keep editing my post with software everyone names...

I haven't had my coffee yet so if this is lame let me know... :hide:

Not lame. Check out my View MyPDA and look at the software I have installed. I have marked where each one is installed. I have a majority of my software installed to BIS with no problems. It's not a comprehensive list, but it's a start.

Wow I didn't know all those could go in BIS...cool!

I guess the best thing is to uninstall and reinstall in BIS right? I thought for sure MemMaid had to be in the Main Memory. Nice!

See My PDA for a lot more.

Yeah. Uninstall and reinstall is the only way to do it unfortunately. After you do all that, be sure to run the MemMaid advanced cleaner(which I'm sure you already know)to clean up all the leftover registry scrap.

I think most things which don't have a database (ie. need to write back to the disk) will work just fine from BIS nowdays. Maybe a shorter list would be listng what doesn't work... or what runs slowly (usually anything that trys to write to the BIS frequently).

Anyway, good list so far, good idea too.

Cheers

Yeah...that does make sense!

Ok...I can put the do not work in red or should I make a seperate thread? If I put it in this thread I would have to get the title changed...

Just ask a mod to change the title.

I would make 2 lists in your original post - what doesn't work in red and a working list in black (as you have) but at the top just state what I stated before -> that most things should work unless... (see my previous post) and that these are the programs that have been tested and found to work fine and the ones in red are found not to work.

Cheers

well - we should actually be more specific than this... because there are apps that DO WORK in BIS, however install HALF their size in MAIN RAM (in the form of DLLs)

and we're not even sure if the DLL can be moved to an external memory store

---

ALSO - would it be good have this kind of thread STICKY?

cheers!!!
