Internet Explorer "Page cannot be found"

I am SOOOOOOOO frustrated. I finally have gotten my wifi to work, and I'm connected, but everytime I try to go to a webpage it says "Page not found" not matter what site it is! I can't log on to MSN messenger either.. Help!

Even though it seems you're connected you're not conncted. Have you played with choosing Internet/Work?

I thought that may be the problem. Which one should it be on? I think I had it on Work.

I've seen an article on the net about this after it happened to me.
After closing down IE, try using File Explorer and go into your Windows directory.
Execute the "Welcome" program and go through the introductory steps again.
After that, it should help.

I followed the steps for the router setup, until I got to step #vii Right click on the Windows Start icon on your PC's desktop and select Explore to open a Window, scroll down in the left pane and select "My Network Places." The default setup when sharing is enabled on WinXP is for a "SharedDocs on xxx (yyy)" to be created on the hard drive. The yyy in this name is the PC's name on your network.

When I get click on Network Places, nothing shows up.

I'm able to connect to the internet via activsync, but I can't connect wirelessly.

I have been down this painful tooth extraction, without any success.

Bottom line PIE is a PIg - as simple as that. Get yourself Netfront and move on..they'll find a fix when you fork out a couple of $$ in fall for the WM5

have you checked your dns settings for your network card? also are you being allocated an ip address?

if you get an ip address (assuming you have a dhcp server on your network) then the problem is going to be becuase ur dhcp server is giving out the wrong dns server or your pda isnt picking it up.

I had exactly this same problem and manually hard coded my dns details in.

i've run into this same issue before on one of my desktops. the wep key is either not entered correctly or has not been saved by the software. try putting it in again.

i recommend using 64 bit wep. 128 and higher cause noticable system slowdown.

I was getting the same message even tho my WiFi was connected (sending and receiving data). I finally had to call Dell Help and was instructed to turn off my router firewall then do a hard reset. After that it worked, however when I fired it up again later it had reverted to the same message so I just turned off my router firewall again without the reset and it was began to retrieve web pages. Why the router firewall would have any effect on the Axim is beyond me. Also I was working with a "clean" (no security parameters set) wireless access point so I didn't have any security issues to confuse the solution of the problem.
