For Pete's sake I was conceding the point to avoid an argument. While the Zaurus is not the typical form factor of the LifeDrive or an Axim, I agree with you that its hard drive preceded the LifeDrive.
i see - a misunderstanding on my part... i apologize...
Hey it's cool, we're both fellow Palm users who've converted and share similar frustration regarding the direction Palm is taking (or the apparent misdirection).
I don't think either platform is perfect; but E Ben G's original post is really valid. PPC forums are pretty positive compared with many Palm ones. For example, check out the News item comments at PIC. The doom-and-gloom is terrible! And -- apart from a few trolls like Surur -- they are all Palm users and fans!

I'd like to third that emotion.. was in the palm camp and then jumped over the wall.
Having said that I think that aximsite/ipaqhq are unique. I've been looking in some ppc phone forums and non of them have the same friendly vibe as aximsite/ipaqhq.
Now part of that could be down to me being 'the new kid in town' but I think a lot of the credit has to go to Chris and the Mods who do a fantastic job in setting the tone. Well done to you all

As with anything MS-related, they may be very good at blanking out their users of any info about competitors. One day, MSN search will rule over Google!! This has already happened with MSN Messenger, at least in this country (UK).
Anyway, my point is that perhaps there's not much to complain about simply because we (the PPC users) simply don't know what the Palm is capable of doing (I can see everyone laughing at me now!). We may be missing out without even noticing, but think the PPC is the best out there.
I've made the presumption that the Palm is better because it was out first (or something!!), even though I've not used/got one.
The only PSION I ever got was a DAB digital radio for the PC! ;)
Demands have changed, and I think PSION just targetted the wrong generation. The availability of the internet will have made pocket devices more desirable these days.
PSION had the right idea long before Palm.
The Series 5 for example, VGA screen, CF slot, proper keyboard, backlit screen, and an attachable modem. It's a real shame they stopped making handhelds, just as so many other innovative companies have done, like Sony and Toshiba. That's why the handheld market is so stale - the lack of innovation from companies like HP.
I'm going to disagree with everbody here about Palm vs. PPC. I've had both units, and spent a lot of time on board for both Palm and Windows Mobile enthusiasts and power users. In general, I've found lots of smart excited users pushing their PDAs to the max. Back when I had a Palm, I loved it and everybody I know who has a Palm loves it.
I'm back in the Windows Mobile world because I liked a number of features tha were offered by the Dell Axim. But, I sometimes miss the Palm (as do a number of other Axim users, I suspect).
If the original poster is notices a lack of negativity, it is probably because Aximsite is a special kind of forum. It is virtually free of Trolls and flame wars, and filled with helpful and insightful comments.
So, it is not a Palm forum vs. WM2003 Forum issue. It is Aximsite > than any other forum othere there.

I don't intend to sound negative, basically I'm just happy with my new Axim and with this forum.
I recently switched from Palm (T|E -> TT5 -> LifeDrive), and I have noticed a general difference in the forums. The Palm forums seem to be driven by negativity and 'debates' about what Palms can or can't do well (multitasking, Wifi, whatever) while here most people overall seem happy with their devices and tend just talk about what they can do with them and how to get those things done.
And I think this says alot.
I know this is a generalization, and no generalizations are true on a case by case basis. Just an observation.
And thanks for the great forum.
u make it sound like thats a bad thing. i don't htink so. reminds me of pc-overclocking forums, where everyone is always pushing the limits. its better in away that ppl are always coming up with new ideas, and not letting stuff go stagnant. like what i've found with the ppc app/game scene (owner of x30h, ex-owner of tungsten E2). thats partly why palm has more apps and games, at least on freeware sites.
