Uninstalling software

I tried to uninstall a 3rd party software . I went to the Remove Programs and got:
Uninstall unsuccessful. The program was not removed because these files are in use or are read only. Tap Start > Settings> System tab > Memory >Running program tab > Stop all and try again.

I did this and stll have the same problem. I tried to delete the file under file explorer and get Cannot delete .... There has been a sharing violation. The source or destination may be in use. Have tried a hard reboot - stil same problem.

ok.. just a couple of questions
1) which bit of software was it?

2) when you did the hard reset, did you get the message on the screen telling you that your data would be deleted?

If it's a Today plugin, you will need to disable it first by going to Start - Settings - Today - Items and unchecking it. Also, it sometimes helps to reinstall it and then try uninstalling it. But as psionandy mentioned, it would help if you told us what the app was.

You could also try SafeMode: http://www.monocube.com/ . Install it and do a soft-reset, click on the screen when prompted and the PDA will boot with just a minimal set of drivers and software, this should allow you to remove the program completely.

After you install SafeMode, do a soft reset, a screen will appear briefly asking you to tap the screen or press the action button.

If you send me a pm with your email, I can send it to you. Confirm that you are using 2003 as it does not work with wm5.

It's available at Handango, do a search for monocube, it's free.
