Today Screen Question

when you go into --> start --> settings --> today --> items tab, what does the "today timeout" do? mine is checked and says 4hr. Not sure exactly wat this is and have been wondering for a little bit.

I think that after 4 hours your axim will return to the today screen instead of showing whatever program it was using (no I can't think of a use for it either )

I've never really understood this either! Maybe it makes more sense in a world before today plugins, where the Today screen is not v dynamic, but useful to see every few hours when you switch on. Instead of which, many of us use it for 80%+ of our Axim-time (together with Pocket Breeze, Pocket Plus, Pocket Weather, etc, etc).

I turned off the timeout and haven't really noticed any difference. I'll look to see what happens when I leave a program running.

It does run a timer to return to the today screen when powered on. The idea is to be able to see the agenda, and if you haven't used the PPC for awhile, it assumes you are powering on the check your PIM.
