categories woes!

Question:

I had to restore from a back-up today. I noticed all of my categories under contacts and in my calander are all missing. Is there something I ma doing wrong as to why they didn't come over from my back-up? They were there before I did the restore.

This has happened a few times, but I was usually able to restore them when I changed the rules on activesync to replace the items on my pda from my desktop. I did the same thing this time and I got nothing.

As soon as I restored, the time was wrong. I fixed it immediately. Problem still exists.

I went through each little high-lighted square in my onthly calendar view and edited the categories section for the ones I needed to keep, yet deleted the one's I no longer needed.

Then in my Contacts section, I tried to go through each entry individually, but sometimes I would tap the name and it did nothing. Other times it worked fine. Then it would not allow me to edit the categories filed, yet it allows me to edit everything else.

It also lost my settings for password.

It really has me bent that some stuff restored, and others didn't. For no rhyme or reason.

I really don't want to hard reset, but I guess I'll try to restore from my last point or should I finish fixing my contact categories, sync it to my PC, back-up to a seperate file, then try to restore?

Agrivating!
