messaging does not work

Hi again,

I tried to configure messaging but it just did not work.
When I write a mail and click on the send button, the
program puts the mail only in the OUTBOX folder, but it doesn't send it. I don't receive any error message, so I don't know where to search for reason why this doesn't work.

Hi, No i set this outlook thing up and i followed the instructions. I also filled in the server information, for incoming mail: pop.gmail.com and for outgoing mail: smtp.Gmail.com (i am using gmail to synchronise with my outlook. But I can't send emails. The mail i write goes to the outbox folder and after some time it moves to drafts. Total bullshit, please help...
When i choose pop3 and connect, it either keeps on asking me what my domain adress is or it stays on trying to connect for minutes, and finally i get a timeout message that there has been no reply from the server ... Really boring
yes, i spelled the name wrong, but now it's to late to make changes...

Usually mail that is not able to be sent from the OUTBOX goes back to the DRAFT box. I was able to send to most email addresses but not to my wife's work email address. When it fails to send from the OUTBOX, it sends the email back to the DRAFT box.

Ok, I just found out why. Make sure that under Messaging/Tools/Options - Address TAB, that you do not have the ISP name checked. This checkbox is for comparing names using address book from your ISP. It shoudl not be checked as you want it to compare against your Outlook database itself not against your ISP unless your ISP email addresses are up to date.

Hope that works for you.
