Yep, battery is the most likely culprit. Easy way to tell is to see if the battery is now flat. Unless you've already left it on charge of course. Had it been left alone for a while?

if you backed up your information on an sd card, the backup should be there even if the battery went completely dead. wierd

will reinstall everything and do a backup on my sd card for the next time, but I don't have much space as Tomtom 3 is taking up much of the space there...

And did you discover whether the battery had simply been drained, or whether it is defective?

I'm a little confused about this.. so if the battery is completely dead or if I take it out now then I'll lose all the installed programs and settings in the ROM?

..and why did you have to get sprite backup for 30 bucks? I thought the activesync 3.8 backup option would do the job.

Just charge it up more frequently.. batteries do tend to wear out as the get older.

And Activesync backup doesn`t allways backup things especially if files are open at the time. The built in backup util is better than the AS one although it;s still not perfect and when you start to get lazy you don`t get a full set of backups.

Sprite closes down all the programs and files you may have open and does an automatic backup every night while i;m asleep. So 3 mins after a hard reset I can have all my data back, even if i;m on a train.

Or you could get an extended battery.... 2000mAh doesn't sound too bad for a replacement does it?

Maybe it wasn't the battery's fault. Did you lose everything in BIS (Built In Storage)? Do you have a CF card or SD card, and did you lose anything previously saved to them? If so, then something more serious is afoot.
