Question Does anyone know why I'm missing my memory slider bar?

Hi,

I am clueless as to how to restore the memory settings slider bar? See attached picture. Can someone help? I've hard reset and restored my backup. I have a feeling it is software related.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Try to close some of the running programs, themes and skins. See witch one does this.

And it might be useful to soft-reset before making any changes and after making each change. (It might also be useful to stop all programs and all themes and skins, and then start them up again, one by one.)

I've done that systematically, and still no luck. I can't be the only one with such an odd problem. My apps aren't unique. Is it a corrupted gif file that is used for the slider?

If you do a hard reset it will restart everything as when you received the unit. Is the slider bar there at that point? If yes (I am sure it will be), what are the programs that you run, have installed that have memory monitor display or a program that try to enhance the VGA display.

As Frenchy implied, you should see if it works BEFORE you restore. You wouldn't want to be restoring back the problem! :)

Lawman,

Are you, by any chance, running ROM version A03? I tried to install that some time back and went back to A02 because of some problems with GUI items not showing up. In my case the scroll-bar arrows at each end were transparent. They worked but I could not see them.

It is also possible that you've selected a color-scheme that is using white as it's color for the slide control. It's still there (the diagnostics are showing that your memory use is OK) - it's just invisible because of the color selection. Try changing color schemes. If that doesn't fix it and you can't live with it you might want to re-flash your unit to another version of the ROM.

HTH,

I'm always running the latest ROM. Its up to ROM A05 now. The problem began in ROM A03. I agree, the memory usage is working fine, I know that's why I'm not worried about how my PDA works, other than the fact that my memory slider is missing. You can see how long I've been trying to get my memory slider back...since A03. I hope the fix isn't to re-install all apps. I have too many... :-(

Yes, Frenchy+Gigi, upon a fresh ROM install, the memory slider is working. A Sprite restore always returns the missing slider. Short of going down the path of MOST RESISTANCE, I was hoping that there is a simpler solution and just a re-install of the "culprit" application that is causing it.

I just need to find the "culprit" application.

The only system/management apps at A03 are:

- Tweaks
- Pocket Mechanic
- MemMaid
- OzBT
- SPB Plus

However, I don't use any color schemes. Everything is default. So, what apps manipulates the ROMs storage memory slider? I can try re-installing those ones one at a time. I just can't see myself going down the path of MOST RESISTANCE which is to re-install all the apps from scratch.

The memory slider still works for me, it just does not have the black solid bar. It just really kills me not to be able to figure it out. I'm the guy who always wants to know why. I just need to know ... :)

Is OzBT running all the time on the device?

Yes, OzBT is running all the time. If an application requires BT, it will switch on BT first, so I don't forget. If it requires WiFi, then it switches on WiFi. Why?

I had the same thing happen on my X5; the only thing we have in common is Tweaks2K, spb Pocket Plus, and Pocket Mechanic (but I uninstalled this). I personally think it has to do with Tweaks...couldn't confirm.

I have Tweaks2K2 latest version 3.10 running and I do not have this problem. Can you disable OzBT and see if the bar is still invisible

I think I agree.
Isn't that WisBar that you've got running?
Disable the skinning from within WisBar and see if that does it.

Ok, I disabled OzBT, and problem still there. :(
I will uninstall and re-install Tweaks when I get home and verify.
As for skins, I don't use any skins that do not come as default in these apps.
I've disabled Wisbar2 and same issue. Problem still there. I had this problem in A03 before I got Wisbar2.
