Outgoing Email Server

I have never had any problems with my X30 other than sending email. I can configure my email accounts blind-folded and have never had a problem downloading email onto my pda through my wireless network, I just never have been able to send email, I just get an error message telling me to check my settings, which are fine.

I do notice that I can not set my "Outgoing" email settings, the setup is supposed to use the same for both, even though I do not know how that can work. I mean..incoming uses a POP3 server and my outgoing is a SMTP server.

One of the posters to this site went through the "step by step" procedure for setting up his email accounts, but I noticed for some reason his Options (2/3) page allows him to use seperate settings for the outgoing email server according to the screenshot supplied. Does anyone know why my Options (2/3) is so different ?? It only allows me to check three boxes...ie...Outgoing e-mail server requires authentication , Require SSL connection and Only display messages ffrom the last ___ days., no option at all to set different settings for my outgoing mail server. This may be the problem...maybe my email "INBOX" software is flawed. I have done a few "Hard Re-sets" but the software is always the same. If anyone can help me with this, I will be forever grateful !

try checking the "my outgoing server requires auth..." and see if that enables a sub menu with different settings.
...just a thought...
