copying music to Axim5
Hi folks,
I have been trying to copy music files( MP# amd WMA)to my Axim5 Advanced. I have a card reader and I am using the COPY function on my desktop Win Media Player(v9) as suggested in the WMP help. The MP3 files work fine. The WMA files copy and transfer OK, but will not open up on my Axim5 Win. Media Player. Of coure, iaw Murphy's Law, the files I really want to transfer are the WMA files. I purhased these online and they are DRM(protected). Thanks in advance for any help Mike

Davey,
Are you saying that Win Media Plaler(version9)on my desktop has a sync function on it? I sure can't see one. Ive got "DEVICES" from the "TOOLS" "OPTIONS" menu. My pocket PC and it's SD card are listed there and I selected "Select quality automatically" which is the recommended setting. Thanks again, Mike

I have media 10 and when in full mode it says at the top: Now Playing--Library--Rip--Burn--Sync--Guide. I just click on sync and it detects my SD card with my songs on it.

I've had the same problem with my Ax5 Advanced and X50V with songs bought through Music Match and iTunes. The songs will only play if loaded into main memory and they take up ALL your memory space so that really isn't an option. I'm unable to get any songs loaded onto a storage card to play. I really don't like DRM protected songs because I think that since I payed for the song I should be able to play it on any format I chose. Music that I purchased from Music Match can be transfered 7 times before it is rendered unusable. OK, I burn I CD for my vehicle, 1 CD for the wife's vehicle (maybe), and basically the rest of my 5 downloads are useless because I can't transfer them in a compact format to a storage card for later access. I understand that record companies need to protect their livelihood but the current system is too punitive to those of us who actually abide by the law and purchase the songs they listen too. Sorry to rant. To surmise, I don't have any luck either getting DRM protected music to load and play.
