Tinternet Explorer

I am a new axin user and am loving it.

I have set up my wifi and am generaly happy with the performance so far. however i would like to upgrade my Internet Explorere to the latest version for windows mobile 2003 2nd edition.

the reason for this is that my web based email account will not display using the version that is standard to windows mob 2003

can anyone help me in this process and let me know what version is the most up to date.

Thanks in advance

Welcome to Aximsite!

Dell did offer WM2003SE upgrades for WM2003 users, so I'm afraid you will have to upgrade devices (X30 and up) to get WM2003SE. You can also consider alternative browsers, such as NetFront.

If you already have WM2003SE, then you have the latest version. At best, you can make sure you have the latest ROM update for you device, but I don't think any of the updates actually addressed Internet Explorer features.

There is a currently a version of Minimo available, but it's still very buggy and requires hacks to make it work. There are a few threads about these hacks; do a search here if you're interested.

One thing to take into consideration is that most websites will see that you are using Pocket Internet Explorer and will not allow the site to function properly. Also, banks, java-enabled, and activex heavy sites may not function on the Axim because of security and the way that they handle cookies or other relevant information.

You can try Netfront, which may work for you, or you may need to only use a PC based browser for connecting to those sites.

I believe someone recommended agile messenger (www.agilemessenger.com) to me. It sounds like it's like trillian - does aim, yahoo, msn etc.

if u want a FREE browser, id reccomend ftxpbrowser. Here is the site. http://park15.wakwak.com/~ftx/ftxp3e/ It supports multi windows, save image and more. It's WM2003SE compatible, but not WM2005.
