Question -----

When I fire up my Axim X50V it will show the " Owners Info " screen first, then when I tap the screen it defaults to the "Windows Today " screen wich is normal sequence since it was new. Then I can tap the little red/green/blue/yellow windows icon in the upper left hand corner of the screen--wich opens the "start" window wich allows you to choose what windows you want to open.

Heres the prob......recently when I fire up the Ax, it will go through the normal "boot up " procedure of owner info screen first, then "tap" next to the "today" screen-------but the little mulicolored windows logo icon on the upper left corner of the today screen----the "start" icon, its missing????? I have tried soft reset which will fix it , but next time I fire up , it is missing again, it will not show up , untill I have opened some other program and then it will reappear in the upper left hand corner---any idea whats going on, and how I can remedy this prob??

I get this once in a great while too. But i haven't figured out what causes it yet. I am thinking it must be a program but it happens very rarely to me so it will be hard to find it. if it happens pretty regularly to you, maybe you can see what programs are running and figure it out.

It does sound like a software issue. What programs are you running constantly?

Do you have Odyssey Client running? The only time I had anything like that happening to me (albeit with an X30H), I was trying to do something with Wi-Fi and had OC running. Took me a couple minutes to figure out it had crashed on me. Got it shut out and problem went away.
