Start Menu Icons

Hi folks,

I have in my Start Menu three apps which are stored in my SD card (all the others are in Main memory). After a soft reset, the correct icons for these three do not appear on the Menu, just the plain white rectangular icon for each. I have to go into Start Menu settings, uncheck and recheck any one of these apps, then all three icons appear properly again. Is there a fix for this, I wonder, please?

As I have one or two soft resets per day, it's becoming tiresome!

Many thanks,
Kevin

You can try creating a shortcut to the programs and placing it directly in the Start Menu folder. Before you do that though, you should uncheck them in the Start Menu Settings applet. I have several programs on my SD card that are linked on the Start Menu and they show up just fine after a soft-reset.

Hi, I've just tried what you suggested, but same result unfortunately - blank icons, but thanks :)

My idea would have been to create shortcuts and assign icons to files stored in My Documents or BIS, but I just checked and that's not a feature in Windows Mobile, just for the desktop.

I wonder if there's any way to make mui files for this purpose?

hmmm.. if you are getting the blank icons then it is most likely that the shortcuts are having trouble reading the SD card. when you get the blank icons, are you sure that your SD card is fully recognized by your Ax? check it from your memory settings.
