Want OzVGA for Windows Mobile 5?

If you want OzVGA for Windows Mobile 5, I need your help. I have been emailing the creator of OzVGA and in his most recent email, he said this: I*will produce VGAResWM5.zip file as soon as I will be able to extract these files
tshres.96.dll
TraRes0409.96.dll
tapres.96.dll
shellresapps.96.dll
pptres.96.dll
pmsnresources.96.dll
officeres.96.dll
outres.96.dll
instmsgrresources.96.dll
msim.96.dll
from QVGA WM5 ROM upgrade.

If you know of a program or a way to get these files out of the QVGA WM5 ROM, please post here or email me at: jhennig@gmail.com

The X51V is a VGA device (hence the "v") we need the rom from a device such as the X51 or the IPAQ 1950 which does not have a VGA screen but DOES have WM5.

I have the files from a QVGA installation. Where do you want me to send them?

Bear in mind that WM5 calls the DLLs in a different way to 2003SE I have found.

yeah, but your files are from a beta version of the OS very buggy as far as I know (from my own experience with my customers that owns the HTC Blue Angel and installed that ROM).

Those files are from a very buggy version of the OS. I have many customers with teh HTC Blue Angel and they have not been able to use my programs while the rest of WM5 owners can use it.

I emailed the files that one of you emailed to me to Mr. Oz a few minutes ago. Hopefully, he will be able to use them.

But do you know from what where those files came from?

I've advised him via e-mail ctitanic that they may be buggy.

I guess beta files are better than no files though yes?

Well, I disagree with you in this point. I like better a product with the less possible bugs on it than to have a product released and then 1000s of people complaining because it's buggy. In another hand, if those files are buggy we (developers)will see many people reporting that this and that program does not work in real vga and that will make us developers to go crazy looking for a solution when the bottom line is that buggy files were used. ;)

I have got already some angry emails from old customers that upgraded their HTC Blue Angel to WM5 and now they can not use my programs and I do not have any way to help them because their problems can't be replicated in any other machine with Windows Mobile 5. So, as you can see, I have my reasons to do not like the idea of a program like ozVGA around with buggy files. :(

I see your point. Sorry dude if I am perpetuating buggy files. Didn't mean to.

I'm just desperate for a WM5 version of real VGA mode.

I know that you wanted to do something good for the whole community but my friend, there are times where it's better to wait a little bit than to get something faster but buggy. Next time, I advise you to think twice what the consequences could be.

Also note that we developers are a diferent breed and think about stuff like that, while a normal user doesn't.

You are right. That's why we should educate the community in our spare time. Don't you think?
