I have never really used the Built in Storage on my Axim x50v. What is it exactly? Is it the leftover ROM? Can I install apps there? Are there any harms to installing things there (lagging for example)? Are there any bonuses?

Sorry for the n00b like question, but I have always used either Main Memory or a CF/SD card.

Yes the BIS is the left over after the SO instalation. I install all my apps there except for most games. The good thing is that if you hard reset the content remains untouched.
