Pocket MSN
when you start up pocket msn it now takes you to a "launch pad" where you can start up hotmail, or msn messenger etc...
i find this really annoying because the only app i use is messenger.
in the file explorer i located the exe for msn messenger (instmsgr.exe)
is there anyway i can map this exe to my start menu or alter the pocket msn start men item to point to instmasgr.exe?
i tried altering the pocketmsn.lnk file to point to instmsgr.exe in the start menu portion of the registry but still launches that annoying launch pad

Just make a shortcut to "instmsgr.exe" using your pc when the PPC is in the cradle. Just find that app through My Computer, copy it, then paste a shortcut wherever you want to put it on the pocketpc.

Lol. How could you get more elegant than a direct link to the program?

MSN Messenger has been hotmail centric since they created the passport system >< Not the best way to do it, but it's rather effective. It also makes things like knowing how many emails you have, and sending an email to an offline contact a little easier.

Use this for hotmail:
POP3: pop3hot.com
SMTP: mx01.hotmail.com
It's working like a charm!

I don't know if it's still an issue to the OP, but I guess the more "elegant" way to do it is to turn on the Today item for Pocket MSN. It puts up four icons, including one for the messenger, which activate the programs directly. :)
