When I try to pair, the serial connection goes green, and Activesync starts up, but then it errors our, and the serial connection is lost.
Has anyone been able to find a way around the limitations of the WM/Dell bluetooth stack. or are we all waiting for an update from Microsoft or Dell?

It's not a question of compatability. It's about a
very poor implementation of bluetooth by both Dell and Microsoft. I have 3 computers, a cell phone,a headset, and remote speaker (for cell phone), and 2 Pocket PCs - all with bluetooth. They all do everything you would expect in respect with one another, with the exception of the Axim x51v.
The Axim will not sync over bluetooth with any of the 3 computers (using two diferent brands of usb dongles), it will not recognize any headsets, and although I can exchange pictures with the cell phone (Razor V3) - it will not discover any services for the phone, or vice-versa (I can exchange pictures by using the "send to" function).
The Axim will only discover serial port services on the three computers, but if I play around enough, about 1 out of 20 times it will discover activesync on my work computer. But it still won't sync.
Everything I have that is bluetooth works with everything else - with the exception of the Axim.
The only difference is that the Axim uses Microsoft's bluetooth stack.
BAD DOG, BAD!!
