Hmm Why the hype?

Okay, I know I am not offically a PPC user, yet. But Monday my Axim x51 should be arriving. While I am looking for software alot of it seems not to be supported by this new OS. MS has not incorportated a legacy mode to support WM 2003 software?

I know I know absoulty nothing... yet but why all the hype? Is it that new and good everyone here is willing to upgrade almost all their software just to run WM 5.0?

Last question, and if you answer any in this post, answer this: What consecutive Windows Revision would you compare WM5.0 to:

Windows 3.1, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows 98SE, Windows ME, Windows 2000, Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows XP Media Center Edition.

Example: Windows 2000 to Windows XP.

Because, it is new stuff.

I would compare it to Windows 95 to 98.

I suspect that for some folks the new persistent memory arrangement is important. Not having to worry about losing data if your battery dies is a big change.

I'm thinking that the difference is similar to 3.1 to W98, but frankly I don't have a clue (I'm only answering because you were so insistent!)

The way the OS system utilizes resources is different, though the feel may not seem too different, resources are a huge part. I also agree with 3.1 to win 95, this was a huge change for Microsoft.

Most of the programs that you see with 2003SE will soon be available on WM05 so most of us are not too worried. We see a good thing!
You have already spent your 2 cents and I do not accept credit

With all the bugs that people are reporting, I would say Win ME.
An (X) in my post denotes a wireless post from my Axim.
A (T) in my post indicates a wireless post from my ipod Touch.

I am nerdier than 100% of all people.

Gotcha... I was so excited when Windows XP came out, I beta tested it and everything. Then everyone got it, probably most preinstalled when they bought it, so it wasn't as important to them as it was to me, I think.
