ActiveSync too active

Just upgraded to WM 5. Now I can't disconnect my ActiveSync, when the Axim is in the cradle. With WM 2003 it at least left a connection icon at the bottom of the Today screen that I could use to manually disconnect, not there's nothing.

Why is this important? When connected the Axim tries to use the ActiveSync connection to access the internet and not the wireless connection. When I pull it out of the cradle it works fine, but when cradled it defaults to the AS connection.

Does anyone have a solution to either of these issues?

Screw it. Had a problem with ActiveSync (4 and 4.1) not showing me any window when syncing with the handheld. I went back to WM 2003 and ActiveSync 3.8.

What a piece of junk.

You can stop AS4.1 from syncing... i found out by acident.
Disable the Lan Connection it make, and no more connecting.
Just enable it once your ready to use it :)

There is an option if the ActiveSync window should come up when you connect.
I beleive by default that it is on.

1) File | Connection Settings
2) (Un)Check Open ActiveSync when my device connects
