WM5 and my X50v

Installed WM5 about 2 hours ago. Followed by my GPS programs, apps then games... The odd part is, everything works fine (for now). It's not slow or unresponsive. My x50v is just as it was with WM2003. I didn't make any special tweaks or changes. Even installed my GPS software on the BIS, not SD. So, maybe I'm lucky or maybe I did something different. I don't know.

I had no problems with my upgrade this morn, some of the freebie games I had don't work but pretty much everything else does and I've noticed no speed difference either.

Mine seems to hesitate every so often, likely while it reads something off the flash that wasnt cached. battery seems to be burning faster for some reason even though it was supposed to lengthen times. we'll see what the verdict is on that after batt pack pro has a few days to calibrate.

I have done my upgrade as well. I have installed most of my applications back, making sure to have the latest versions of the software. I never had many "tweaking" apps, and I only used 2 Today plugins, so I pretty much completly hard-reset the device and deleted everything in BIS. Followed the directions sent with the CD and I have a very nice, problem-free x50v with WM5.

I have not completed my configuring of the machine, that seems to be a never-ending process. I turned on the wifi and was connected to my wifi network within moments, and it works at my normal hotspots around town. My BT GPS has had no issues as well as my ThinkOutside BT keyboard.

I find it funny all the people having issues. Seems to me they all upgraded, expecting to have all their tweaks remain in place throughout the process. I also see that the people having little to no issues have few tweaks (if any) and 3rd party replacements. Start with a stock unit for the upgrade, you will be happier. then install and test each piece of software one at a time.

Funny how the same units can be so opposite in upgrade issues. To those with issues, patience, try a completly blank machine... It will work.

Nope, sorry, this is BS. I started with a completely clean unit, installed programs one at a time, had no "tweaks" running, and only one today plugin. WM5 gave me nothing but problems.

It's not just tweak-junkies that are having serious issues with WM5.

I installed it last night and I have the slight hesitation at times but other than that I have had no problems.

Which GPS software are you using, specifically are you using the Dell GPS system?

I use a Bluetooth GlobalSat BT-338 GPS Reciever. On the software side, I am using iGuidance 2.1.3 and TomTom 5.1.
