I've been closely following people's posts on the subject of WM5. As mindinmotion pointed out, those who were calling Dell 5 times a week demanding a WM5 upgrade CD are now crying and throwing darts at a microsoft & dell logo on the wall because the new OS is nothing great.
Why are you x50 guys so crazy about this upgrade? It doesn't offer you guys a major improvement in way. Is pocket powerpoint so great or, something? Furthermore wm5 is actually a downgrade from wm2003 (for now) in terms of compatibility and stability. Why not just stick with the reliable and friendly wm2003 until the wm5 is perfected?

tccox has a point there, WM indeed allows much better implementation of the basic "office" programs. Sure there are better solutions, but they cost money. Minimalists such as myself do not want to go spend more money of software such as Textmaker when our device should already be able to do what we need it to.
Also, I believe the idea of persistant storage will give me the peace of mind to no longer require carrying an extra battery. With WM03SE, I will always need an extra battery in fear of running the other one out completely. With WM5, i will not only have better runtimes, but if my device runs out of juice, NO WORRIES!
