You need to go into the scheduling options on your PC and change it to manually. If the schedule option is greyed out in Activesync here is what to do:

- set up a dummy server (put in any number as a dummy address
- this will give you access to the schedule option
- change the sync settings to manual
- run a sync
- then you can delete the dummy server
- do another sync and now Activesync won't try to connect every 5 mins.

There is still an issue of Activesync turning the unit on while in the cradle - the only workaround right now is to disable to LAN connection to the device.

Hope this helps
CuriousG: Thanks, it has helped at least one person to turn off the blasted syncing every 10 minutes (that's what mine was set at). As for the battery drain, only time will tell. I was hoping that my upgrade would uneventful, as I started with a hard reset before attempting the upgrade. There seemed to be a higher level of success from reading the forums; not so, I guess. Anyway, at this point I'm going to try and stick it out until an update comes out. Thanks again.

No worries - it did the trick for me. I also make sure that I shut down all running programs before putting it to sleep. We're a week away from an update if Dell delivers on time. No rumours yet on what fixes may be incldued.

I'd be happy if they would include a "Full Off" mode for the x50!

I'm having the same problem. It's almost like it uses more juice when it's sleeping than when your using it. I'm trying the ActiveSync changes to see if that helps. X51v by the way, no programs running when I put it to sleep at 65%. 8 hours later down to 20%.
