Question Regarding Complaints about WM 5 Performace Compared to 2003 SE?

OK many posts are complaining about the performance issue of WM 5 comapre to WM 2003 SE.
Why would that be?
Is it because WM5 is a dog or because of Persistant data Storage.

With my current X50V 2003 SE I install all programs into BIS, nothing is installed into RAM.

In my case should I see performance about equal, worse, or better.

Just got my CD but haven't upgraded yet.

Thanks

I didn't see any problems with speed, my issues were with battery and wireless communications, that's it. I thought WM5 was great for everything I used it for, except those two things.

I know that isn't much help, but since BIS/ROM is pretty much the same thing, just a different partition, I don't think you'll see any speed loss. At least not related to the I/O.

I agree, WM5 is very fast. the issues that I had were battery life, and problems turning my axim back on (resulted in soft reset). Removing my SD card fixed the problem. other reasons that WM5 is getting bad reviews by axim users is because they are installing 3rd party apps and plug-ins that have not been perfected for WM5. This makes WM5 run very slow. Overall, I love WM5 and think it is leaps and bounds ahead of 2003se.
