There is no Network folder on WM5, although certain software programs will add one (I had it on PPC02 and WM03 because I was running PocketLAN on those PPCs). Which file explorer are you using to see it?
In any case, it probably maps to a shared folder on your PC and will allow you to use files from your PC's hard drive. You should not be install programs there since any time you are not connected to the PC, you will not have access to them.
