is there a list of all the apps that the mui works for? So far VirtEarthMobile seems to work, acrobat REALLY works, and I saw no difference in pxl and pword. Have yet to try others.

But any other apps that are known to work, or have a list?

The newest version of Virtual Earth Mobile is VGA aware and no longer requires this hack. You can download the newest version from the link in MyPDA.

oh rbg08 that's hot; thanks for letting me know. I had been modifying the VE source code to get it to work well and doing performance enhancements to get it to work fast in VGA mode (its optimizations kinda assumed a less-than QVGA display). I wonder if the author has done basically what I did when converting to VGA...

Thanks for the AvantGo fix - much better. Although the fonts are now manageable I still get AvantGo looking as though it's being displayed in only one column down the left hand side instead of using the whole page width.

What am I missing here?

I did all the steps.
Adobe starts loading but soon I get the popup: "Failed to load application resource (internal error)".

The application failed and does not start.

Any help would be appreciated.

Solved my own problem with the text appearing in columns. I unchecked all the boxes in the AvantGo Tools, Options, Content menu. I can't see what they're for because the text is missing, but I figure one of them is probably for downloading content in table form. When I resynched AvantGo this morning the problems was solved and my text looks great.

Thank you so much for such a great utility, now I can enjoy VGA without restarting my pda. It also works with Realone player and Microsoft streets. Unfortunately it doesn't work with resco explorer or photo viewer.

Just a hint for foreigners: If your Axim uses a different language from english, you have to change the language code of the .mui file.

For the codes see: http://www.ficorp.com/intl_xp.html

So, for example

[file.exe].0409.mui -> english
[file.exe].0407.mui -> german

WOW, I thought AvantGo on the x51v was a lost cause until I read this thread. THANKS! I can read the news on it now.

Does anyone know another way to 'fix' AvantGo besides this threads suggestions? Just wondering...

re: fixing Avantgo I did exactly as the original poster described. copy the mui file and put it in program files/avantgo folder and call it AvantGo.exe.0409.mui

So I downloaded the test mentioned on http://www.pocketnow.com/index.php?a...reviews&id=702 and I can't get it to work. With the security prompt disabled, it still appears to be in low-res mode. What could I have done wrong?

I've got an AXIM X51V, Running Mobile 5 with A06 rom, Magicbutton, and the newest version of I-Launcher. Thanks for any help-I'm new at this.

on my x50v w/ wm2003se, Avantgo shows images in VGA, but text does not change size and it stacks on top of the lines above it....any solution?
