Just a note for those of you having trouble with Avantgo.

I was having all kinds of trouble just like you. I tried copying the .mui file manually and also tried Tweaks to force it, but each time the text would pile up ontop of itself and I couldn't get it to work at all.

However, I ran across some info that told me I needed the tgetfile and have it in my /Windows folder.

Now, I Avantgo works great in VGA. I have 2003SE, so I can't guarantee that it will work with WM5, but it may be worth a try for you that are having trouble like I was.

Note: I got my copy of the tgetfile from Tillanosoft at thist address: http://www.tillanosoft.com/ce/tgetfile.html

I've installed Adobe Acrobat and the mui file but I've forgotten to do the SetSecurity thingy. I did it afterwards, but I did not see any change and the quality is still crappy.
Any idea ?

I was looking for a way to get cerdisp to work and not look like butt!! I never thought of applying the vga bruteforce to it!

Looks like this thread advice as a fix for AvantGo is no longer necessary. 6.2 beta version now is made for VGA viewing!

Thanks for the heads up. :) Too bad there will no longer be automatic syncing when the device is cradled. Kind of defeats the purpose of having offline news content when you have to remember to maunaully sync each day.

hmmm just to clarify cause i have read through everything and this does not seem to be working. so in order for the mui file extension to work,
1)i need to remove all the programs like acrobat, sim city, pocket streets off of my axim???
2) then install the set security and turn off the prompt???
3) then reinstall the programs and copy over the changed mui files???

is that it???

Why don't u guys use xPDF instead? It is VGA aware natively.

renault: Because I find it horribly slow when drawing pages, compared to Adobe. It's not bad for the price (free), but it's still below where I want it to be as compared to the official and rather spottily supported Adobe product.

View MyPDA So after reading this thread, it looks sounds like Tweaks2k2 does the same but a whole lot more?

Is Tweaks2k2 worth the price to those who use it?

It works great for Adobe, but what's the best way to reverse this? Should the renamed mui file be removed or can I just move it to somewhere else on my PDA, like one of the storage cards and then move it back when needed? The reason I ask, is since the options screen in Adobe is out of whack with this hack , I want to be able to "turn it off" temporarily to change settings and then turn it back on.
