Can "soft" buttons be changed?
Can the soft buttons at the bottom of the WM 5 Today screen be changed. PocketPC magazines article on WM 5 said they were user definable, but I can't find any way to change them. Any help is appreciated.

Start -> Settings -> Buttons. Click the button you want to change, then assign the program you want to associate with said button. The actions are located at the top and are in angled-brackets < and >. EX. <Left Softkey> means it will perform the action thats on the bottom left hand side of the screen.

Can the "soft" buttons and the color bar just be removed? They are virtually worthless.

The latest version of Tweaks2k2.net allows you to change the functions of the left and right softkeys. The solution offered in a previous message in this thread allows you to assign those softeys to physical buttons, which does not change the functions themselves.

The soft buttons do seem a bit pointless at first, but when you're going through settings pages and stuff they act as back/forward etc. Before in WM2003 you'd often get "stuck" in menus where you'd have to bring the keyboard up and press enter or the arrow keys. These new soft buttons ensure you can get around easily.

Change with theme
You all probably already know this but,
I just installed a theme (tsk file) to my X51v and it changed the function of the soft buttons as well, not just the look. I have not installed one yet, or "had a play" but it looks like you could change the Today page buttons at will, with a theme creator package.
