Word documents take entirely too long to load on my x51v, a 624 kb document takes 1min 20 secs to load or reload. the same document on my palm t3 with documents to go 7 loads instantaneously as a doc to go file and it takes 5 secs to load as a word doc.
I read where the file is moving from ram to rom, I personally don't care, microsoft of all people should have this nipped in the bud. Now I noticed a friend's of mine who has a garmen with windows 2003 only takes 10 to 15 seconds. Now I dont know if its the Axim x51v or the mobile 5 or both, all I do know is that the two of them (dell and microsoft) need to fix it and fix it quick, I'm too old to wait for files to load that slowly.

Same problem here...can't believe it. Went from a Palm, all Word docs loaded in seconds. The search feature doesn't seem to look inside of closed Word docs either...something the Palm did just fine. Amazing. :realmad:

I am having a problem with the search feature looking into Word, too. Any solutions? It is pretty critical that I be able to search there, or else I will have to use notes instead. I'd rather use Word as it has many more features, especially spell check.

im having a similar problem. since word has turned off on me on occasion while trying to take notes, i periodically close and save my documents so i dont lose too much info if the program closes. sometimes the files load immediately, sometimes i have to do a soft reset cuz its taking so long. and im talking about notes that ive typed that are around 100kb. not as big as your file but they take FOREVER

I am having the same problem and the worst: after some times you open a word document it crashes and only work again if you soft reset the device.

Please, someone help us!
