The system update file can not be found. Reinstall System update

Hi all,
I upgraded win2003se to win5 and got error, thus I'm trying to downgrade the firmware.
Using active4, since 3.8 doesn't work. I downloaded the "downgrad firmware" from Dell, and when I try to downgrade, it gives me this Error: The system update file can not be found. Reinstall System update
Please help

had the same issue. try accessing the cd directly by bypassing autorun, and running the installation straight off the cd instead of downloading it to your desktop/a folder/etc.

I had the same issue until I realized that I was using the QVGA version of the downgrade ROM instead of the VGA version for my X50V.
VGA: http://ftp.us.dell.com/utility/R111630.EXE
QVGA: http://ftp.us.dell.com/utility/R111634.EXE
