Mobile Printing
From HP's website --
"Since 1992, HP has been committed to delivering a high-quality, complete printing experience for customers using mobile devices. Because customers can use similar mobile printing software offerings (see list, below) that are compatible with Pocket PC and Windows Mobile OS platforms, HP has decided to focus on other areas of its mobile printing and imaging strategy where solutions may not be so readily available. As a result, HP will discontinue HP Mobile Printing for Pocket PC and HP Mobile Printing SDK for Pocket PC, effective October 1, 2005."
Oh, this is bad...I need a (hopefully) free mobile printing solution for X51v's running Windows Mobile 2005. Any recommendations?

Do you know ActivePrint; I have not tried yet for a trusted opinion but you can test it following this link. Unfortunately not free…

Unless I am wrong-- ActivePrint requires syncing with a desktop or laptop computer.
We have a mobile application build around using Pocket PC's to generate and print documents in the field. Using HP's 450/460wbt printers, we've had great success printing from Dell Axim's directly to these Bluetooth-enabled printers.
So ActivePrint is no good for me.
Now with 11 Axim's on my desk running Mobile 2005, and 11 HP460wbt's on the way, I find that I cannot print directly from the Pocket PC's to the printers!

Just a follow up on my dilemma printing with Mobile 2005 --
solved by returning the Axim's to Dell and buying iPAQ from HP that are still running Mobile 2003SE!
If anyone comes across a (completely) mobile printing platform that works with Mobile 2005, please share!

Hi,
Having the same issue here.
After doing some talking to the Westtek people ( http://www.westtek.com/pocketpc/) they claim to be working on an upgrade to their printing solution JETCET to make it compatible with WM5. So for the time being - I'm waiting.....
:-) Will

Mobile 5.0 printing
We are looking for an SDK for printing from PPC, Windows Mobile 5.0 platform. Bachmannsoftware.com and Fieldsoftware.com have nice solutions for Windows Mobile 2003 but not Mobile 5.0.
Anyone know anything that will work on Mobile 5.0?

Finally!!! Success!!!
ClearVue Suite Professional does it! I just downloaded an evaluation copy, and am successfully printing RTF documents from an X51v to a HP450wbt using Bluetooth!

Thats great, plus it looks like the pro version allows you to edit presentations. I already have CV though. Hopefully they will offer a free/reduced price upgrade.

Just a point. I downloaded Activeprint and installed it to my X51V. I can print both using a wireless connection(Tcp/ip) or Bluetooth. Sorta neat and a great way to scare the heck out of a family member whos using the computer and wonders why the Printer is printing all by its self.
Take a look at
http://activeprint.pocketwatchsoftwa...p/tutorial.htm
Problems .. Only prints the header of outlook messages , not the text body.
And printing through BT does involve activesync, but you can print withour activesync using a wireless connection
