You will get the same error even running WM2003SE. This happened to me twice while doing battery testing for a review. I had to remove the main battery for a few minutes before being able to successfully hard reset and try again.

right, it happened on mine with 2003se too. i believe it has something to do with the pda writing something to mem when the battery gets either removed or dies. it doesn't seem to have any lasting effects though.

Ghost Threads Running?

I've been noticing that sometime in the night when I am asleep (which consists of only a few hours if I'm lucky), my Axim apparently turns on to do something (I have no idea what), then the battery runs down to about 25% and then gets jacked up with the memory error. First, I have no idea why it tries to do anything in the middle of the night (if only it was doing some homework for me). Second, why, at 25% battery (1100 battery, btw) it dies and is jacked up. When I leave it on dock or have the 2200 battery in, it does not die, but neither does it appear to have turned on and done anyting.

Does anyone know of any ghost threads that try to run while I'm sleeping?

I had the same memory problem for the first time tonight. After WM5 destroyed everything including all the data on both my SD and CF cards a couple of weeks ago, I decided to bite the bullet and try again, this time doing backups to the SD card and copying the SD and CF cards to my desktop PC after making any system changes. I did not reinstall SPB Pocket Plus 2 which seemed to have caused the original problem.

Since reinstalling WM5, I have had to do one hard restore (not too difficult with the backups) and many soft restores. But, everything has been running pretty well and speeds are fine (slow after a hard reset, but then it seems to speed up preety quickly after a little use).

However, this was the first time I had the "memory" problem. AXIM would not turn on and it would not soft reset. I removed the battery for a few seconds and then reinstalled it. Got the "low battery" critical message, immediately followed by the "memory error" screen. Instruction said to press the contacts button and if it didn't work to do a hard reset. Forunately it worked, but the low battery error message came up again. I switched batteries and the same thing happend. I proceeded anyway and went to power setting and the battery showed 98%, I then switched again and batteries again and the original battery was at 100%. (The AXIM had been in the cradle when it would not turn on the first time).

own X50V and just upgraded to mobile 5 and have noticed a big decrease in perfomance from my X50V. Windows Mobile 5 is also eating my batteries life and does not boot correctly. I'm trying to search as many tweaks and tips as possible to keep from rolling back to Windows Moblie 2003se. I have a 1gb SD Card and have not even installed any software on the X50v. Once I loaded
Spb Pocket Plus 3.0, Wisebar Advance 2 the performance decreased so bad that it began to give me memory errors and a lot of soft resets had to be done. Seems like everytime Microsoft designs a so better OS it demands more from your hardware. Any help.

Battery meters were my big problem. I shut down any meter using the top bar. This includes WA2. I then did a reset making sure WA2 was set to start on a reset. Everything is working fine now. I am using WA2,PocketBreeze and iLauncher.

The today screen meters in iLauncher work just fine so I still have a meters working.
