It seems like the attention on the petition to Dell over the WM5 upgrade fiasco has ceased?

Has Dell gotten away with this travesty? How many of us plunked down $40.00 for an "upgrade" which does not work and eats hardware for lunch.

I wrote to Michael Dell, with no response. I am wondering if it is now game over and Dell has won?:exc:

I have tried to downgrade my X50v to 2003. As soon as it starts, I hear a bell and suddenly the USB connection disappears. When my XP machine tries to reinstall the 'device', it can not find the software.

Hmmm. Anyone have a clue on this one.

I gave up. I triend to fix, follow the corrections but wm5 was still bug. I ll never use wm5 again, just if dell release a new stable version. But how long I ll be waiting? Anyone knows!
My pocket pc now with wm2003 is ultra, because this my axim name is ultraaxim. Very, very fast.

By the way, I have a question: after the downgrade to wm2003SE, I am with the AS 4.0. What is reccomended? Continue with AS 4.0 or went back to 3.8?

thread starter / 1st should updated links with revert WM5 to WM03se for X50 too,

anyway, I've revert back to WM03se, those WM5 is szuck big time (like WinMe)

hello, I have one x51v but she is in Spanish, and I have a pair of doubts. If use the backward movement to wm2003 if later I do hardreset I can return to wm5? If I have wm5 in Spanish I can change equal to wm2003 without problems? runs some risk my x51v making the backward movement? thanks

No se puede usar wm2003e por X51v.

I want to take just a minute and THANK YOU! and all of you users who have gone through the darkness of "UPGRADING" to WM5. I found this site after the trouble started. I wish I had known of it beforehand. I am amazed at the number of souls that are going through the exact same problems, and in my case it was too muchl The deal-killer for me was the lack of BlueTooth Profiling for Audio Gateways and Headset Profiling. My applications mandate these. The "DOWNGRADE-UPGRADE" was absolutely perfect! And the cause of that is this message right here. About a week into the UPGRADE I started looking for my original AXIM software. When I figured out that I didn't have a disk with Windows 2003SE on it I began to panic. But this morning I came across this wonderful post. It was like a gift from above.

I am brand-new on the site and this is post #1 for me. For a long time I think I will be soaking it all in. I don't bring much to the table at this time except an bad experience with WM5 and a gratefrul heart. I truly appreciate the amount of work that you all put in to maintaining such a dazzling website...wjacks1

I've studied this a lot over the last week or so, and it turns out that WM5 requires the upgrade to ActiveSync 4.0, but ActiveSync 4.0 (or 4.1) does NOT require WM5. In other words KEEP the latest version of ActiveSync. It has worked really nice for me. It will do great with Windows 2003SE!

My Axim X50v with WinMobile5 is as fast if not faster than it was on Win2003 SE with the tweaks and thanks to the Widcomm stack I have full use of Bluetooth... Now my Axim is better than when I first bought it.
