Question X51V downgrade success?

So you seem to be the only one who succesfully downgraded an X51V to W2003. Can you shed some light on that?

I think you must mean X50v not X51v

Hi.

I have a Mio P350 with WM5 (WinCE 5.01) on, can i use this downgrade files for that PDA ? I cant sync my PDA with Windows XP, tryed eveything, so better go down to WM2003 :) i just dont know anything about this issue, so want to be sure before i do something.

So if someone can tell me if i can use these files in here and if not, maybe another link to some files that will work for the Mio P350 WM5 PDA. Thanks

Mugge

Nope, you can't use the downgrade files here for your Mio. These files are used specifically to downgrade the Axim X50 series, since there are many hardware-specific device drivers, and it would likely not run even if you could flash your ROM with another device's ROM.

Hey all,

I made a very stupid mistake by upgrading to WM5. I'd like to revert back to WM2003SE.
However, I bought my X50V used, and the person who sold it to me doesn't have the copy of WM2003SE that came with the device (he gave me boxes, twisties, extra battery, extra cables, BUT not the CD... funny guy). How do I restore WM2003SE then?

Also, which ROM version would be best for me to use? I downloaded:

Dave,
Why would you want to down grade???????????
I have a X51v and I love WM5.

FYI: I looked on dell's site, and found a "new" reinstallation update.

R115117.EXE

This one has the description:

and says it restores to "ROM A05 WWE" --whatever that means!

Hmm Safe to Downgrade from WM% (a02)

Hi guys, is it safe to downgrade from the latest WM5 rom for the x50v (a02) or does the downgrade only work for rom a01? Thanks!

Sure you can downgrade from WM5 A02 to WM2003SE.:approve: I did that and it is running good.

------------------------

You cannot run WM2003SE on the X51v. The X51v don't have a backup battery on it, which means you'll hard reset everytime you change battery.
