Hey anybody know for sure which file I should use for the downgrade to 2003 on my x50. Dell has 2, R115118 and R111634. I figured to use the one from 1/17/2006 which is 115118 but the instructions specifically stated 111634. If i don't get any replies soon I will just try the Jan 2006 file.

R115118 is for qvga x50 and R115117 is for x50v.

if your ar eusing a firewall, try to turn it off and the use ActiveSync 4 to sync your device with desktop computer.
if you are using windows firewall, try to check on the TCP/IP option on the firewall settings.

the downgrade is for axims (X50/X50V)only... so it won't work on any other hardware

Worried Help

Help, I have a axim x50. upgraded to wm5 and everything seemed to be running fine till last week, got up that morning to find that it had froze. did a soft reset 1st, did not help, so I did a hard reset and now I get the blue dell logo screen and the progress bar @ bottom only goes half way then stops. and does nothing else. Have I done something wrong? H E L P
Also how can you flash or update when you can't connect to computer?

This is exactly what happened to mine, and after a call to Dell, they said they couldn't fix it and sent me a refurb--but it was still in warranty or they would not have been so generous. I never upgraded again.

Hmmm. On the Dell support website, they link the VGA version to the file R115117.EXE which is the opposite of what this sticky has. I guess at least if you download it from Dell, you can complain if they are the ones who have the wrong file linked.
