Just another upgrade problem thread...

Alright, I'm a newbie here, but I've been on the phone and on the "chat" thing with Dell for too long so I figured I see if anyone here could offer some advice to me. I'm trying, just for the heck of it, to upgrade my X50v to WM5. I installed ActiveSync 4.0, and I can run the update utility up to the point right after the hard reset. When it tries to copy the files to the axim after that, the connection between the computer and the axim is lost, and a box pops up on my computer that says the device has malfunctioned and is not recognized by Windows. The utility screen on my computer says that the update cannot procede because there has been a USB error. I can restart my computer and it then will recognize the axim until I get back to that point in the update utility. I'm using a USB mouse and I've plugged the axim in all two of the USB ports I have on my computer, and the mouse has never quit but the axim always loses the connection at that point in the update. If anyone could help, that'd be great. Dell is supposed to 'research' the problem and call me back today...
