Hi hoochimagoo,
I guess that you did all the steps leading up to needing to delete the exchange server from your list of sync sources - here is how you do it - open active sync - start-programs-active sync
At the Right Bottom is Menu - options - now you will see the exchange server and the Windows PC as the two choices - tap on the exchange server and at the bottom hit delete - that will remove your fake server - this fix will not effect the way your PDA syncs with the the computer. Thats it I hope it helps - read below before you attempt this.
PS - make sure that you that you changed peak times and off-peak times to MANUALLY - also at the bottom of the page is an Adjust Peak Times link - I turned off All the Peak Days and set my start time to 8:00am and end time to 8:01am - have not had active sync turn on since. Do this before you delete the Exchange Server because after you do the Schedule will Grey Out and you won't be able to make the changes unless you re-make a fake exchange server.
Also I turned off the error reporting - Start-Settings-System-Error Reporting (Disable Error Reporting)
And I also turned off the Time Out Option - Start-settings-Today and at the bottom hit ITEMS - and at the bottom UNCHECK the Today Timeout.
With these fixes most all of my problems (ie. no responce to Power Button and AS always going on) have been fixed.
Good Luck - hope this helps - Later Paul-Z
