My axim had died after trying to hack vga with full icon fix under wm5. While trying to reboot the screen would stay at the dell image after getting the progress bar up to 100%.

(Solution: I removed my 1GB SD Card before doing a hard reset. Placed the axim in it´s cradle with ac power connected, hard reset, waited for around 5 minutes in dell screen and the voila, booted!!! The cradle was also connected to my laptop via usb.

Well, it was a big scare. Hope this helps someone!!!!.
