I sync my X50v at home with Activesync 3.8 and at work with major company where I am restricted to Activesync 3.7 or 3.6.

Just got Dell upgrade CD last night for my X50v which comes with new Activesync 4.0, before I upgrade I need to know if it will still work after upgrade to WM5 with 3.7 at work?

If it won't with 3.7 then I won't upgrade which will be sad and I'll try to twist the IT dept to install Activesync 4 on my locked work Laptop (LOL) . . . thanks in advance.

No, it will not. WM5 only works with AS4.x

Just be careful of the whole firewall mess, backup, backup, backup backup....It seems that the upgrade to both activesync and WM5 is a either or situation....either it upgrades fine or it turns the x50v into a brick.
Upgrade the activesync first and backup everything and then some and give it a whirl.

Thanks guys, sounds like I'll have to try and get our IT dept at work to install Activesync 4.0 before I upgrade to WM5, wish me luck . . .
