The end of the thread suggested deleting the partnership and then re-syncing. Take a look and try it out.

I don't even have a partnership since I reinstalled activesync.

Patrick, I did read that thread hoping that by some freakish chance my fledgling knowledge would be able to help you in return for the help you gave me. Sadly, no. <hang head> Sorry, amigo. If I do hear of anything re: WM5 I'll send it your way via PM. G'luck!

Stuck

What version AS do you have?

Did you completely uninstall the old version (3.8)? Did you remove any reference to AS from the registry?

After doing the above, you can install the new version and it should communicate...

How old is your device? Do you have an Express Service Code?

Yes, I uninstalled 3.8 and installed 4.1. The device the communicate with the device just fine, it's some software bug that prevent the upgrade uitility from procceeding.

I already contacted Dell. After talking with them for a long time, they just tell me that they hope the update in the future will fix the problem.

.
Story... I could not get the upgrade to WM5 to work on my X50v until I uninstalled 4.1 and installed ActiveSync 3.7 from this link

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

I was able to install WM5, then was happy for four weeks, except for one time it told me I was critically low on storage space - had to cold boot to clear that. (BTW, I re-installed AS4.1 after the upgrade to WM5 worked.)

One morning this week, X50v in cradle was unresponsive. Warm boot nothing, Cold boot got about 85% and stuck. Dell just sent me a replacement X50v (with PPC2003SE), and I'm not going back to WM5. You should sit tight till next version of WM5 comes out...IMO of course.
