.NET compact framework 2.0
Hi,
I have an Axim X51 and I cannot seem to figure out how to install the .NET compact framework 2.0 on it.

I have tried copying NETCFv2.wce5.arm4i.cab file and installing and I get: Installation of NETCFv2.wce5.arm4i.cab was unsuccessful.

I am using Visual Studio 2005 (the release, not the beta) and when I deploy a simple CE5 application, it attempts to install the arm4i.cab file, but fails and I get: Error 1 Post-deploy error 0x80070005 returned after calling '\Windows\wceload.exe /noui \Windows\System_SR_enu.cab'. Device Connectivity Component

Anyone have any ideas?

Just download redistributable package from Microsoft (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en) and install it from your PC. I had no trouble installing it on X50v with WM5 running.

Hmmm...I downloaded the same package, and the installation on my desktop went fine, but I don't think that it actually ever installed on my x50v.

I have VS2005 and after downloading Mobile 2005 SDK I had had some problems to. To solve this problem just follow next procedure:
1. Uninstall .Net compact Framework from your PC.

2. Disconnect Axim from PC (remove from cradle).
3. Install .Net compact Framework on your PC.
4. Connect Axim. As soon as you connect Axim, .Net Framework will be downloaded to it.

I just ran the package it installed PC portion of it first, and then started installation for my Axim without any problems, but I'm lucky that way, I rarely have any problems with electronic equipment and software.

I followed those steps and when I re-connect the axim it begins installing the framework, but then gives the error:
Installation error. Stop all applications and processes, maximize available storage space, and run installation again. Support info: 4

The axim x51 is brand new and has no extra software on it, and I closed all the apps on my pc and tried installing again but I get the same error.

Thanks for your help.

I re-set the device and had someone else also try the process, but still no luck. Has anyone sucessfully installed the compact framework 2.0 on the x51?

I upgraded from ActiveSync 4.0 to 4.1 and then I was able to install the compact framework as BurgerBoy suggested.
