Since upgradeing to WM5 everything o.k. - don't use much thats not standard.
But biggest problem is the lack of backup with new activesync.
What is the best s/ware I purchase to replace this?
Well, if you like to use what is standard, I haven't seen a PDA not come with a backup program.
If you have an X51, there is a Data Backup on the device to do backups.
If you want to buy something, do a search of this forum and you'll find most people suggest Sprite Backup.

right now that is about all there is - the included one. you can always copy the file that is created to your pc. sprite is working on the update for wm5 but no dates yet.
sorry not explained correctly, want to back up to PC, standard app seems to only back up to SD card.
Just perform a regular backup, upon completion you move the backup file from your SD card to your PC. The file xfer w/ActiceSync4.1 is quick.
Since WM5 allows you to run out of power and no lost of data. You don't need the backup file on the storage card. Unless you have a sudden hard-reset...when you are on the road and no access to your PC.
Actually, you can use Microsoft FolderShare (www.foldershare.com) to download the backup file from your PC to your Axim if you can find a WiFi hotspot.

How do you download to an axim with Foldershare? It seems to need a software download which doesn't exist for pocket pc?

You can use your PIE browser and log in to your account. Your home PC needs to be on too!

For those of us using HTC Imate and QTEKs we have no native backup liek Dell has, has anyone found SunnySoft useful on WM5? It appears the only alternative
