Has anyone managed to use avantgo in axim x51v successfully? I am not able to download any news from avantgo to my axim. Avantgo provides solutions that doesn't work...

Yup, I use it daily and works great on my x51v. I just wish they'd come out with a true vga version rather than having to 'trick' it in to vga.

Did you have any configuration problem at all - was it a smooth installation from a to z? I downloaded avantgo v57 build 53, and it never works. Uninstalled Microsoft active syn 4.0 and previous version of avantgo as suggested and change server setting of sync.avantgo.com to the numbers given. Still not working.

How do you 'trick' avantgo into vga? I haven't managed to do this, so see everything double size.

No issues at all. Simple install and go. Try syncing manually (go to settings/connections/avantgo connect/ and syncing there.... I don't use Activesync for Avantgo.

There is a thread somewhere on here about how to do it. You place a file in the directory of any program you want to trick. It works about 80% of the time with favorable results.

Attached is the file to put in the avantgo dir,
Unzip it and use activesync to copy it to the program files\avango directory

This makes Avantgo "VGA aware" nicer looking!

Make sure you have the setsecurity patch on (to disable the security check on Dell/WM5, which does not allow to install .mui file). And if you run any firewall on your PC, don't forget to allow ActiveSynce for passthrough.

The problem I have that I don't like is the scrolling left to right. Anyway to change that? So I don't have to scroll?

I use Tweaks2k2 with the Force VGA tweak to read Avantgo; it actually, to Microsoft's credit, looks better than it did under 2003 SE with the same tweak. I still, however, don't understand why there's an Avantgo option in Activesync when it doesn't work. I have to sync manually--open Avantgo, and click on Tools/Sync.

This is why I no longer use Avantgo. If it dosen't automatically sync when I plug it into my computer, it loses a lot of its usefulness.

I use Avantgo on mine. The only issue seems to be a variety of fonts. Where one screen will show up fine, the next screen font will be oversized, etc.
