When I reinstalled WM5 for the second time, I had forgotten to set the "Device ID" in Settings/About. So, AS 4.1 kindly created a new profile "WM_Owner". Since I already had stuff in another profile (SCX50V-2) that I had orignally used for sync'ing, I quickly renamed the AXIM to that name. Now AS shows 3 profiles, one for my Cassiopeia, one for the 2003SE version (in case I had to revert), and the above mentioned one for my WM5 version.

All sounds good, except that the "files" section in AS 4.1 still shows syncing with \My Documents\WM_Owner My Documents\, the folder it set up originally for syncing. I have tried manually changing the references in the repl.dat file in the AS profiles folder to the \SCX50V-2 My Documents\ folder, but to no avail, it recreates the file as it was after every sync. I tried deleting the file to see what would happen (actually renamed it) and it again recreated the file with the WM_Owner reference.

Is there any way to change the AS profile to get this corrected? Will deleting the partnerships do anything? If so, how should I then add them back in? What I would really like to do is to get all 3 profiles to point to the same synchronzation folder. It would be even nicer if you could set up file sychronization to point to the original file locations instead of having to copy them to the sychronization folder.

Try using activesync to delete the WM_Owner profile.

Soft-reset is our Friend :

    

If I understand the problem correctly, you could hard reset your X50V and connect as a Guest. When synced go to Tools, Backup/Restore (in AS on your pc) and restore any of the three partnerships you want.

Remember, a hard reset clears everything on the Axim that is not in the ROM or BIS. It's worth backing up your current configuration before trying this option.

As stated in my original post, the partnership I want (SCX50V-2) does exist, is in the AS profile list, and is being used (at least that's what shows up at the top of the AS screen). However, because of the original partnership that was set up (WM_Owner) the files section in AS is pointing to \WM_Owner My Documents\ for its file sychronization.

I would like to get that changed to point to \SCX50V-2 My Documents\ . I would REALLY like to get all of my profiles to point to the SAME synchronization folder or, better yet, to the actual locations of the files which are being sync'ed.

Steve, I'm not sure that you can sync multiple folders. The profile on your Axim determines which sync folder AS looks at. Hence my point about changing the profile on the Axim.

You can move all the files you want to sync to a single folder and they'll get synchronised from there
