White screen problem
ok guys, i recently upgraded to WM5, an di know alot of you are sckeptics. and hell now i might be as well. it was runing good for a few days, but i have noticed that if the Axim is in its cradle for a few days, and I go to turn it on, it doesn right away. Then if i hold the power button for a few seconds it goes to a white screen, and i have to do a soft reset to get it back to normal.....any suggestions of how to fix this problem? I have a x50v, running pocket breeze 5.0......let me know, i need this to work for em while i am at work!

I have seen threads about people having white screen problems.
You may want to do a search to see more about them. I have only seen it once. And it wasn't an error, it was I had left Internet Explorer in Full Screen mode and at the time I turned it on, didn't have an internet connection. So it was showing me a full screen blank page. I held my stylus on the screen and took it out of Full Screen mode. Maybe that is what you are seeing too. So you know, holding the power button does one of three things (depending on your setting in Power): 1) Turns the backlight on/off 2) Does a full power off (like pulling out the battery) 3) Nothing

Prior to upgrading to WM5, I was having occasional white screen errors when I would turn on my PDA. I did however, have the "Display Owner Information" setting enabled so it would try and display that on power up. At Random times when I would power on, it would just go to a white screen and freeze there. Other times, it would display vertical bars on the screen, very thin and black. I thought my PDA was screwed, but I decided to test if it was anything caused by software. After completely wiping out my PDA and CFMD, SD Card, for WM5, the errors went away. Everything seems to be working fine now.
Anyway, point in hand, don't attribute it to WM5 necessarily. And if you go back to WM2003SE and the problems were resolved, don't assume it was WM5, because it may have just been a result of you flashing 2003SE back in. I still don't know what causes this though, but I wanted everyone to keep in mind that point. I'll do my research on it. Let me know if you find anything out!

Just turn on the Axim before putting in the cradle. See more at the link below my signature!
